Fishing & Wildlife Pleasure Trips

Jenny II will be in the water in May through to September and you can book at the shop on 01758712646 for 2 or 3 hour fishing trips suitable for young and old, beginner or experienced fishermen. All tackle and bait is included in the trip price.

Alternatively if you don’t fancy fishing, take an hour  or two on a trip around the St Tudwals islands and see the wildlife, seals and sometimes the dolphins in the area.

The calm sheltered waters off Abersoch, with the magnificent backdrop of the St Tudwal’s islands and Snowdonia, contain a wide variety of wonderful wildlife which you can enjoy during your visit to Pen Llyn (Llyn Peninsula). We hope that experiencing wildlife in their natural environment from aboard Jenny II will be one of the highlights that you will take away from your stay in the area.

Seals

Atlantic grey seals have an established colony on the rocks of Carreg Y Trai and the St Tudwal’s Islands, breeding and pupping to maintain their numbers.

Birdlife

A variety of seabirds are to be seen in this part of Cardigan Bay whether resident of migratory the rocky ledges and the sea itself colonies of birds, gannets, oyster catchers, razor bill, guillemots are the most common. Puffins, shearwaters, terns and choughs, buzzards and peregrines have all been identified.

Dolphins

Bottle nosed dolphins living in waters around Pen Llyn are frequent visitors to our cruising grounds. Others from the cetacean family; common dolphins, harbour porpoises and even basking sharks are less often seen.

Fishing

If you want the anticipation and excitement of landing your own catch one of our enjoyable fishing trips is the answer. A trip aboard Jenny II will hopefully enable young and old to experience the thrill of catching their own food. The stable Jenny II provides a good platform and fishing tackle is provided. These waters are home to many species of fish and so to conserve stocks our anglers only take sufficient for their needs and return the rest of the catch.

Boat

Jenny II and her skipper are licensed by the MCA (Maritime Coastguard Agency) to operate. The traditional fishing vessel design means that Jenny II is less of a threat to the wildlife than some vessels. The experienced crew are accredited members of the National Wildlife Safe Operators Organisation which aims to maximise passenger enjoyment and not compromise the wildlife.
